Summer STEPS Internship Program

The Summer STEPS Internship Program (Strides Toward Entering Public Service) is an 8-week, paid summer internship open exclusively to college students interested in careers in local government. Participants gain hands-on experience working alongside City of West Sacramento staff across various departments, contributing to projects that directly serve the community. The program is designed to develop professional skills, foster civic engagement, and create a clear pathway into future careers in the public sector—helping students take their first strides toward becoming leaders in public service.
